I’m 5 days post op now and feeling remarkably well. I feel much better than I thought would. I want to thank everybody for thoughts and encouragement . I dont want to get ahead of myself . I need to realize there will probably be some difficult times with recovery.

Dr. Gross said surgery went well. But I knew better to say I was feeling remarkably well, because in 24 hrs I had horrible problem with my stomach due to meds, it was probably the narcotics talking for me earlier. I’m just doing Tylenol now I got off the narcotics. Today my stomach feels better, but now I have bronchitis. That’s what happens when you speak to soon. I’m doing the home pt and trying to walk 2 times daily. I’m just goona take 1 day at a time and try and be patient.

Im 8 days post op now. I’ve been icing, doing pt and I feel pretty good on 1 crutch walking. Do you think it would be ok to use a hiking pole instead of a cane. Also it is normal to limp without a crutch or cane at this point isn’t it?

I’m 24 days post op. I feel tired after a days activity. Im walking approx 1/2 to 3/4 miles not all at once. Doing pt excersizes 2 times daily, and its not a lot , just isometrics. Maybe going out to Costco, things like that. Which really isn’t much. Im sleeping at least 7/ 8 hrs a night. Why am I fatigued? Is it because Im still recovering from surgery.

I had my right hip resurfaced by Dr. Gross. I’m small bone my size was 42/44 . I saw 3 HR doctors. 1 said be would do it if I instisted on it, but recommend a total hip. The 2cnd one said he would do a HR but it was with a polyurethane liner in between the metal cup n ball. And the 3rd doctor, was Dr. Gross who was confident that an HR could be done on me, but did tell me I was considered a higher risk due to my size. My bone density is good, which is a factor in consideration for an HR. I will be 6 months post op at the end of this month, so far I’m very pleased with the results.

I’m 8 mnths post op and having difficulty getting up on my own leg power when I do deep knee bends like a catcher would do. Has anyone else experienced this. I checked with Lee at Dr. Gross office, she advised me to do some elliptical, lower leg weight exercises, squats.
