My name is Freddy Sammarone. I am 44. This was my first resurfacing (left
side) by Dr. Scott Marwin. My right hip was done in 2008 by Dr. Ranawat.
So I have two types of hips.
I felt compelled to post a little something on your website. Jan 8, 2013 I
had a hip resurfacing done by Dr. Scott Marwin. Today is 3 weeks post op and I
am on a cane. I am moving about although still with a limp which will last for a
few weeks more. As frustrated as I am to not be able to return to work yes, I
know that the end result will have been well worth it. The worst part is over,
getting off the meds which I did about a week post op only because I didn’t like
how I felt. I am also now able to sleep on my side. I now look forward to
doing everything I miss and better !!

Just a little follow up on my resurfacing. all is well. pt was great. now I
am doing pt at peak performance in Lynbrook long island. they are a great group
of therapists. highly recommend them. its coming up on 6 weeks. its amazing to
see the difference. gait is much improved. pain has lessoned. I actually was
able to swing a sand wedge today at three quarters! owning a restaurant is the
tough part not being able to work a full day. I would just pop in and check up.
my wife has been a tremendous help. if not for her I would not have gotten
through this. I worked last night for valentines day. made it through a full day
but not without soreness the next day. I missed pt and just stayed off it most
of Friday. although I must say the workout from being at work actually helped
me. I push a bit too much, but that’s just me trying to heal quicker. one thing
I learned is that your body will tell you to take it easy. don’t push yourself.
So if you are in need of a new hip ,don’t worry. Being scared and nervous at
the thought of going under is normal. once you decide to go through with it you
will be grateful to yourself that you made the right choice.Time will heal all
wounds. Dr. Marwin is an incredible surgeon, along with Monica his PA and the
rest of the staff.
